Hearing Your Story introduces, for the first time in English, the work of Algerian poet and novelist Nabile Farès. Originally written in Spanish and then translated into French by the author, this long poem of praise for the people of the western Sahara is presented here in a tri-lingual version that preserves the textual play of the bilingual original, complete with the original drawings by Françoise Martinelli. Hearing Your Story is a pæan of becoming, a “...Poetry/ not/ only/ to decorate/ our days/ of misery or/ fortune/ but/ to light/ the foundation/ — loves/ and countries —/ of our/ (real)/ (first)/ discovery.”
