UNO Press invites submissions of both creative and scholarly work in the following areas:
Louisiana: Culture and Diversity
This broad category will include work by and about Louisiana artists, musicians, and authors. It is open to creative work (fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and also graphic arts, photography, etc.) by authors and artists living in or connected with Louisiana, and also to scholarly work on Louisiana literature, music, and art, as well as cultural and historical studies on any aspect of Louisiana.
Katrina Scholarship
We invite submission of scholarly and theoretical work concerning Hurricane Katrina and related events and contingencies. In this category, we will be accepting papers— for inclusion in an anthology— as well as book length manuscripts for consideration.
Literature in Translation
In keeping with the growing cultural and linguistic diversity of New Orleans, the state, and the nation, and in support of the University's goal of internationalization, we are soliciting translations of important literary or scholarly works from languages other than English.
